THE KITCHEN

We serve the finest food from land and sea. Cooking and serving the finest fresh ingredients, prepared exquisitely for your enjoyment is the tradition of Xaco. We are committed to quality and to maintaining a tradition of excellence.

Traditional dishes. Our dishes are home made from rich, traditional recipes and feature crustaceans, cephalopods and are accompanied by fine fish stock. Our specialties include: Fisherman’s paella, fish stew casserole (black tinted rice with fresh fish), and our vermicelli prepared with garlic prawns. These specialties are a great way to begin to explore our house recipes. Another house favorite is zarzuela, an elaborate main course of different varieties of fish, stewed in the oven with stir fry vegetables in a rich fish stock with tomato sauce and chocolate. Or try our baked fish with potato and onion or stewed fish with potatoes in fish stock. These delicious dishes are traditional Catalan cuisine and will satisfy the most demanding of palates.

Fresh fish and seafood. Our suppliers, some of whom are from our family, deliver the fresh fish, twice daily. Our fishmonger and fisherman roots allow us to select only the highest quality seafood and our seafood is always live! We have both a lobster hatchery and shellfish beds as well as many varieties of crustaceans and mollusks, including wedge clams, mussels, razor clams, purple dye murex, etc. You will see the quality when you visit our in-restaurant, fish stand. We will cook the fish the way you order it, but generally, fresh fish and seafood is lightly cooked.

Our desserts. We have a wide variety of homemade pastries and desserts.
